2/17Costa Rica Gig Cancelled, But SoCal & UK/Europe Shows Just Around The Corner…

Bryan here. It is with great regret that I must announce that our February 25 show in Costa Rica has been cancelled, due to circumstances completely beyond our control – the person who was backing the show simply pulled out last week without warning and has now stopped communicating with us. We are just as shocked and surprised as you are, and we are truly sorry to anyone who made plans to attend the event.

I know I speak for Guthrie and Marco when I say that we were very much looking forward to coming and playing for our fans in Costa Rica. But there was simply no show for us to play. We look forward to hopefully visiting Costa Rica under better circumstances in the future.

(To be perfectly honest, it’s a bit of a financial blow to us, so if anyone out there was holding off on buying something from our spiffy webstore, now would be a good time to pull the trigger. :-) )

But in the likely event you’re a fan who already has the record, we can at least say we’re all looking forward to our two gigs in Southern California (San Diego at Brick By Brick on 3/2, and the big WesFest 7 benefit concert in Los Angeles at The Roxy on 3/4), and the very exciting tour of the U.K., Europe and the Middle East right behind it. Plus we will have some more exciting news for the U.S. Midwest fairly soon (hint hint).

Check out our website calendar for all of the latest details, and hope to see you out there soon. – BB

1/122012 Tours Set to Start

NAMM is right around the corner and we are pleased to embark on a series of tours that start during the trade show in sunny Southern California. The first two shows are at the Alvas Showroom in San Pedro, CA on Jan 21 Sat 8pm and Jan 22 Sun 6pm. From there it’s onto a clinic-show at GIT on Jan 24 Tue and then up to northern Cal for a show at Biscuits & Blues in downtown SF on Jan 27 Fri 8pm. The short west coast tour concludes with two dates at the Rendezvous in Seattle on Jan 28 Sat 11pm and Jan 29 Sun 9pm.

After a break in early-to-mid Feb, we fly down to Costa Rica for a big one-off show there that will also feature Greg Howe and his band and Alex Hutchings from UK on Feb 25 Sat. Then we return to Southern Cal for a show at Brick By Brick in San Diego on March 2 Fri 8:30pm and then at the Roxy in West Hollywood on March 4 Sun as the headliner for WesFest. Then we are straight off to UK on March 5 to start the big tour of Europe. The UK portion of the tour will feature the progressive power trio Godsticks as the opening act and we are very pleased to have this superb band open up for us in Guthrie’s home country.

The complete tour dates for the Europe tour are now up to date. We look forward to seeing you out there soon. We’re working on more tours throughout the world for the remainder of 2012 and will post those dates as soon as they get confirmed. 2012 promises to be a very exciting year for the Aristocrats as we build on the momentum of the very successful launch of the debut album that was released on September 13, 2011. Thanks again for all your support. We’re looking forward to a very rocking 2012! – EY

11/22New 2012 Dates Posted – Including WesFest 7 at The Roxy in L.A. on 3/4/12

We’re proud to announce that The Aristocrats will be headlining the WesFest 7 benefit concert at The Roxy in Los Angeles on Sunday, March 4, 2012. It’s an amazing four-band event that benefits the Wes Wehmiller Scholarship Fund at Berklee College Of Music, and it’ll be quite the hang. Click here to see the whole list of performers, and for complete details on tickets and donations to this worthy cause.

We’ve also posted quite a few dates on the Tours page for the first quarter of 2012: San Diego, San Pedro, San Francisco, Seattle, and – if you can make it there somehow – Costa Rica! Guthrie’s fellow countrymen and women in the U.K. will be happy to know that we’ll be touring there in March as the start of a short European jaunt. We’ll have more news about that March tour soon.

Thanks again to everyone who’s picked up the CD or bought a download, and maybe even a t-shirt as well. We’re excited for next year. :-)

10/27Post-Tour Whirlwind Blog – And T-Shirts Now Available For Standalone Purchase

Hey all, BB here. It’s been six weeks since we posted here on the front page – the CD release and the U.S. East Coast/Canada/Chicago tour were such whirlwinds that time just got away from us. Sorry about that!

It’s been a wild ride since the record came out. We are all amazed and super-grateful at the incredible response to the debut disc. And the tour, although all too brief, was a huge success, thanks to the many folks who came out to the shows. It was hard for us to believe that we were just a band with our first record out for only a week, because the crowds made us feel like we’d been together for years. On behalf of Guthrie, Marco, and me: thanks so much for that. It meant the world.

A quick note about the webstore: Many people had been asking when we were going to have Aristocrats t-shirts up for standalone purchase (not as part of a package). Ask and ye shall receive: We’ve got ’em up now. Check it out on the Store page.

In the meantime, each Aristocrat is off on their separate Aristocratic way for the rest of the year. But we’re working hard to bring the band to as many corners of the world as possible in 2012. We’ll be back in early 2012 for some U.S. west coast action, and then in March it’s off to the U.K. – Guthrie’s homeland! – for the start of a Western Europe/Middle East run. Then, in May, we’re off to the Far East to some truly exotic places. You’ll know more when we do. In the meantime, check the Tours page for the latest info.

Once again, thanks for a great launch, and as Marco would say: Boing, we did it. :-)

****************

Guthrie, Marco and I have been working on this CD since March. We each wrote three songs for it, and we worked like crazy to get it all just right. That said, it was great fun for all of us really getting to know each other musically, a process that’s continuing to this day.

It’s also been a pretty incredible journey, as Marco and I just met Guthrie this year, and suddenly we’re a band with a record about to come out that lots of people seem to care about.

We’re really grateful for that. Thanks to everyone who supported us with comments of encouragement (and in many cases, much more than that) along the way. Hopefully you’ll have as much fun listening to it as we did making it.

And maybe we’ll see you on tour in the eastern U.S., Canada or Chicago this coming month as well.

Happy listening,
BB, GG & MM
